"Tampa's Most Connected DJ"

With an impressive resume that encompasses everything from on-air personality, to acting, to writing and producing, to CEO, there is no mistaking why DJ Ekin is widely known as “Tampa’s Most Connected DJ.”  There are DJ’s and then there is DJ Ekin.  A determined professional completely dedicated to taking on with ease every task that comes his way.  It comes as no surprise that his days are often non-stop from the boardroom to the studio to the club, with stops in between at local high schools or youth groups, filming interviews, or writing for upcoming projects.  As DJ Ekin likes to call it…a day in the life of a “mogul in the making.”  

DJ Ekin has made a name for himself in the industry as one of the most diverse, hardworking, reliable, and energetic DJ’s around. That’s why it’s no surprise to see names such as, P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears, T.I., Beyonce’, and Ludacris, on the extensive list of celebrities who he has had the opportunity to work with in his career. He is also no stranger to travel. He has hit stages throughout the East Coast, as well as overseas. His first booking as a professional DJ was in London, England. 

DJ Ekin was born and raised in the Bronx, New York.  His dad can be given credit for discovering this hot DJ.  He gave Ekin his first set of turntables when he was only 12 years old. DJ Ekin has resided and worked in many of the nation’s hot spots; including, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Orlando, and now Tampa.  No stranger to doing “big business,” Ekin has been tapped by such major organizations as Anheuser Busch, Major League Baseball, Island Def Jam, Atlantic Records, & Finish Line (just to name a few) to assist in reaching their target markets.   What makes DJ Ekin unique is that he always comes to the table with something to “add” to the plan.  

DJ Ekin’s talents extend far beyond the turntables. As President of “4Play Entertainment, LLC” he oversees the development of such projects as “DJ Ekin presents:  MyPlace,” (www.youtube.com/djekintv) where he serves as creator & Host.  You can now catch his “MyPlace” brand as a recurring feature on BET’s “The Deal” which airs nightly at 3a on the cable network.  He can also be heard puttin’ it down across the airwaves of Clear Channel Radio’s “WBTP 95.7 the BEAT” in Tampa, FL (www.957theBEAT.com) (7p – 9p daily) where he juggles the duties of being both an On-Air Jock & Mixshow Coordinator. He has even taken on the challenge of columnist with contributions to various online magazines, as well as his contribution to his own bi-weekly blog; “The Connect.”   His most cherished accomplishment may be the development of his non-profit organization, ConnXions (www.ConnXions.org); an organization geared toward teaching youth the power of “building relationships one handshake at a time.”  As Ekin states, “I look at every opportunity as a chance to solidify my position in the game.” 

Premiere DJ, VJ, Host, or all around entrepreneur; whatever you’d like to call him today…just know that DJ Ekin is most definitely on the rise.
